Read Psalm 108:7-9
https://et.gy/4dUwZzc

God has promised in his sanctuary: "Moab is my washbasin; on Edom I hurl my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph."
Psalm 108:7,9

Everyday names are used to dramatize redemption: portions of the promised land (Shechem, Succoth, Gilead, Manasseh, Ephraim, Judah) become instruments for God's rule, while traditionally hostile nations (Moab, Edom, Philistia) are subordinated to God's victory. The eternal story of salvation is localized in the familiar vocabulary of geography.

Prayer: O God, I want to acquire a lively sense of your active rule in the towns and nations around me to experience your promises and be confident of your victory, through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Bible Gateway passage: Psalm 108:7-9 - New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition

God has promised in his sanctuary: “With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Vale of Succoth. Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim is my helmet; Judah is my scepter. Moab is my washbasin; on Edom I hurl my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”

Just maybe one thing will resonate. And that’s enough to yield gratitude to make the world a tiny bit better.

Here are the slides for a recent presentation I gave of our study on #existential #psychology https://osf.io/kwjsy

In the study we coded and interpreted 803 short text responses about either #death or toothache. We found little to indicate #DeathAnxiety or #DefenseMechanisms. Article and dataset are #OpenAccess.

Article in @collabraoa with Sina Storelv as first author is available here: https://online.ucpress.edu/collabra/article/9/1/87507/197342/Nothing-Is-Certain-Except-Taxes-and-the-Other

#Existential philosophy and psychology assume that strong negative thoughts about #death influences many aspects of our lives, often #unconsciously.

In an article just published in #Collabra: Psychology (n=803), we found that "death" was seen as less negative and more positive than "toothache". We found little to indicate #DeathAnxiety or #DefenseMechanisms. Article and dataset are #OpenAccess. This is Sina Storelv's first first authored paper!

Nothing Is Certain Except Taxes and the Other Thing: Searching for Death Anxiety in a Large Online Sample

Philosophical and psychological literature has suggested that death anxiety has a profound impact on people’s lives and is a fundamental aspect of what it means to be human. Such claims motivated us to examine how people express their emotions and attitudes toward death in short free-text responses. We explored a qualitative dataset where 803 Americans stated their thoughts about either death or physical pain (toothache). Comparing these, we found that death prompts caused the expression of less negative affect and more positive affect than toothache prompts. The reactions to death were quite diverse and did not appear to be dominated by existential anxiety. We discuss whether this pattern may be due to psychological defense against death causing negative emotions, or whether the pattern reveals a “true” preference for contemplating death rather than toothache. The article serves as a companion for an open dataset, to allow other researchers to explore and reuse it.

"🛡️ Defense Mechanisms: Were They Enough for Proton Mail? 🤔"

Despite Proton Mail's robust security measures, including iframe sandboxing and Content Security Policy (CSP), the vulnerabilities in SVG handling allowed attackers to sidestep these defenses. The key takeaway? Even the most stringent security measures can be bypassed if vulnerabilities are overlooked. Continuous security audits are paramount! 🔄

Is Trump projecting once again? He seems to be conscious at some level of his weaknesses, which he projects onto his adversaries.

Yesterday he said on Truth Social "EXPLAIN TO THE DERANGED, TRUMP HATING JACK SMITH, HIS FAMILY, AND HIS FRIENDS.”

From that, I get the idea that Trump is hearing from his family and friends that he (Trump) is in a *lot* of trouble.
