ERCOT grid holds in Texas freezing weather

At least one person died in the freezing weather. High demand for electricity is forecast to continue into Saturday.

The Siberian Hawk has officially arrived.

At 6 PM the temperature where I am now was a balmy 63 degrees Fahrenheit.

Right now, it's 26 degrees with a wind chill of 12.

And by daybreak, it's expected to drop off into the mid-teens with wind chill near ZERO.

IN. SOUTH. LOUISIANA.

Protect yourselves and your critters, y'all's....this is gonna get ugly.

It's cold outside. Waiting for the car to warm up before grabbing chili supplies. Got 3 layers on and I'm not sure it's warm enough even with the heavyweight mylar thermals on. Definitely wonder if this was such a smart idea. #gaybear #deepfreeze2022 #stupidity
