@ nebula @ beach .city Spoken like a troll who has no idea what I "forgot" or didn't.
I've forgotten NOTHING and have said as much repeatedly on Bsky, where you don't read my posts.
You read what I decide to post here, so you speak out of ignorance.
I'm slightly drunk but still...
"decide you want to spend the rest of your life with someone"
makes no fucking sense. You can't decide what you want. Thinking doesn't relate to feelings that way (for most people, anyway). You can't think to a feeling, or at least not like that.
More importantly: knowing what we will want in the future ("affective forecasting") is not something humans are good at.
You can't decide that you want to spend your life with someone, at least not in any meaningful way.
Admitting that marriage hasn't been great to me:
Perhaps it is possible for two people to make a meta-decision that might be valid: the decision to continually return to the reasons for their love, updated each time for the new world they now live in.
I mean, it hasn't worked out for me, but I want to believe.
"Tariffs are gonna hit food prices so I'm going to buy local I guess" is a sentiment I've seen a few times here on the fedi.
I have bad news: local farmers have tractors, combines, computers, pumps, and all sorts of machinery. That machinery needs parts, or sometimes they need replacing outright. The prices on those *will* go up. Buying local won't save you because the farmers have to pay the imports either directly or indirectly, and those costs will be passed on.
Here's an idea: Better Late Than Never is better news than Never Happened.
How about that.
Appreciate good news when it comes our way. Even if it's not as good as you wanted it to be.
Sigh.
#DebbieDowner time.
Early "pub" time for me (4.30pm)
It's not sitting well #DebbieDowner
In no way, shape or form did I say that Labour caused the collapse. You're putting words in my mouth. It's disingenuous.
As stated elsewhere, I do not take #DebbieDowner-replies to this post.
Please buzz off with your doom elsewhere. Goodbye.
