A young mountain maple (Acer pseudoplatanus, Berg-Ahorn) tree in the middle of a dead spruce forest. New life is developing/recovering, we just need to be more considerate and respect nature more. We (humans) are only fellow inhabitants on this earth. There is still hope.

No sooner has the stone area been cleared of the larch logs and chippings than the next batch of firewood arrives. We felled the dead spruce trees (bark beetle wood) near our property. The large pieces are somewhat lighter because the wood hasn’t been sap-filled for several years. The firewood value is also slowly declining. The advantage is that you can burn it right away without needing to store it for a long time.
