Quinn DombrowskiI'm very late to posting something for #DayOfDH2023 but I'll blame it on being 15 hours off of my home time zone. I spent the day offline, on a boat, with DH colleagues and my spinning machine and crochet. We talked about projects, conferences, organizations, and there was seafood and beverages aplenty. It was not at all what my regular life looks like doing #DigitalHumanities, but it's a memory I'll treasure.
Missed #dayofdh2023 but here for it now! Spent the last week wrangling a grant proposal for the NEH Digital Projects for the Public and getting into the weeds of a Design Document.
Today's work is establishing user stories based on the engagement surveys we've been doing during the discovery phase of this Public Art as Resistance in San Jose walking tour project year.
Also...I'm burned out :(

Meanwhile here on Earth we devote only a day to DH but whole months to women's history and black history. I think that makes it clear why university technocrats promote DH over real humanities; because they're scheming to move the Media Studies program from Wilson Hall to bake in the inner reaches of the solar system. That's how scared they are.

Till GrallertThis #DayOfDH2023 was a day of joyful collaboration to build open infrastructures for tool and method registries on top of (or rather in) Wikidata. Talking data models, SPARQL, APIs, and trying to get #OpenRefine to push our mapping of the #TaDiRAH taxonomy to #Wikidata.
Finally, I spent the bigger part of the day with my kids and, later on my partner, before briefly sitting down to scheme for the new #ADHO #SIG #MultilingualDH, which I have the honour to co-chair with Merve Tekgüler.
There are also things I would have liked to do but couldn’t, namely attending the 9th conference of the Islamicate DH Network (@idhn) or the open research colloquium at @DigitalHistory
