I did a minor thing to my code, and now my linear regression model's performance went from an r2 score of 0.3 to 0.8 (way better).
and now I have to rewrite my evaluation and report

Are you a business owner looking to save on operating costs and diversify your company?

Consider hiring international talent. For less than 20% of US minimum wage you can hire a Ukrainian for front and back-end development!

I tried to make sense of the data given to me for my #datasci assignment. Because I absolutely could not come up with a model for data that looked like a shotgun blast of rainbow colors.

Also comet tails here basically indicate there are full-time professionals making less than minimum wage. Really?

Things only started to make sense for me after I filtered by country.

My chart about the money tech professionals make.

Full-stack developers have the 10th lowest pay. But a fair amount of them are paid comparable to CEOs somehow.

(still looking for a topic I can throw a model at for my #datasci assignment.)

"JavaScript is the most popular language."

#JavaScript is both the most common and the most hated language. Meanwhile #Rust is an overhyped meme language.

(My visualizations while working on my #datasci assignment. Data set is about software development.)

Update on my attempt to be a good scientist and avoid sloppy work when evaluating my proposal for large (think 10s to 100M) scale frailty survival models. This FAFO of mine is why you should never skip pilot experiments before running away with formal designs. #computational #stats #datasci

Do you know of any #rstats teams who could use some help in 2025?

I'm a freelance consultant with 10yrs of experience in #DataSci, #DataEng, #DataOps, and providing #SysAdmin for related tools. I primarily work with R, but I have enough SQL and Python knowledge to get by. I know my way around a linux terminal and docker-compose file. I'm also handy as an interpreter between IT and analytics teams. Open to many types of engagements (project-based, temp staff, etc).

If you have a need or a lead, I'd love to chat!

boosts welcome :-)
