Does anyone know of an #Android gallery app that allows you to add text to photos?

I'm moving to #e/OS soon and I'm REALLY going to miss that (from Samsung).

#OpenSource preferred, but not a dealbreaker if it doesn't engage in #datarape

The 'small tech' map - it's great to see that so many good alternatives to #bigtech unethical #datarape products exist.

Which will you switch to?

(This map appears on this page of our website: https://www.rebeltechalliance.org/stopusingbigtech.html , and all these products are linked to in the Alternatives sub-menus)

@sonicJazzMonkey I'm not sure, but they have put their AI Assistant into WhatsApp... And their businesses model is #datarape..... So....

PSA anyone getting the latest #Samsung Galaxy update - beware of the dark patterns to trick you into turning on their #AI everywhere!

Help yourself and your loved ones to avoid the #datarape - help them set it up, and take your time to go deep and check each setting.

A win for #privacy 😁 against #Meta and a loss for #surveillancecapitalism

It does not set legal precedent but it's a win nonetheless!

Coupled with #MaxSchrems case that beat Meta last year, https://noyb.eu/en/cjeu-meta-must-minimise-use-personal-data-ads-0
Things are starting to move in the right direction.

It's mind boggling that Schrems' case took 10 YEARS to conclude 🀯 The power imbalance is ridiculous with #bigtech

Petition: Ban behavioural data extraction for advertising

Ban the extraction of peoples behavioural data for advertising purposes. This extraction can happen on most internet-connected devices 24/7. Data is sold through Real Time Bidding (RTB) system which is easily accessible and data may be de-anonymised. We think fines show GDPR may not be adhered to.

She knows finance, and she follows the money.

So if you're on the fence about why #bigtech got so powerful, via #surveillancecapitalism - for example you think some who've written on the subject might be prone to conspiracy theories - then take it as read from this highly intelligent and qualified financial investigative journalist.

Even though it's *just* your metadata, it's still #datarape

@alderik ooooh good find! I didn't realise they'd done an updated version of this study (they did one back in 2021).

This is great - everyone needs to know the creepy, non-consentual extent of #surveillancecapitalism and the fact that the #metadata taken is plenty enough to build an accurate profile on you. They don't need your actual content, just the metadata.

#datarape

Still think it's safe to use because they encrypt the message contents?
