The CRA interviewed my former student Stefan Walzer-Goldfeld about doing #datascience research with me at Amherst College https://sparc.cra.org/unveiling-patterns-undergraduate-ventures-into-statistically-significant-pattern-mining/ #datamammoths #professorlife
Unveiling Patterns: Undergraduate Ventures into Statistically Significant Pattern Mining – CRA-E SPARC

Two #professorlife announcements:

  • Starting July 1, I'll be an Associate Professor with tenure!

  • I received the NSF CAREER award to work on Statistically-sound #knowledgediscovery from data (https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=2238693&HistoricalAwards=false)!

NSF Award Search: Award # 2238693 - CAREER: Statistically-Sound Knowledge Discovery from Data

Today, some of my amazing undergrad RAs (https://acdmammoths.github.io) learned about git rebasing and squashing. It was some of the most fun I've ever had explaining something. It is also such an important skill for a productive programmer (i.e., computer scientist), and I wished someone explained it to me when I was an undergrad. Their feature branches had no conflicts when rebasing on top of main (pheew), so we'll cover conflict resolution another time. #professorlife #proudadvisor #datamammoths
