Started playing #DarkSouls1 remastered the other day. Going to try and work through the series now that I've beaten #EldenRing. I've made it to the Undead Parish.
So far the game seems easier than ER but mostly because the AI seems very brain dead. Enemies constantly just stop moving or doing anything or turn around for backstabs. It's a lot slower than ER too.
@waywardpythonttv @mezz Nice! I've got just two right now, both reboots of a different concept & rebooted for diff reasons. (Dual wielding in #DarkSouls1 is not like the later games.)
I've got a halberd/spear & shield warrior, and a wanderer w/ scimitar & pyromancy. They've both done O&S and 4 Kings. Warrior did Sif too, and is now partway thru Duke's Archives (after the surprise blue things).

@Zelda1101 Oh I get it. A good buddy of mine is tired of me playing any of {#DarkSouls1, #DarkSouls3, #EldenRing} and doing his best to find games we can play together. It’s difficult. Ex: I've played & enjoyed #Valheim before but now all I can think of is all the harvesting & the hauling. In my present state of mind, unfortunately, it feels like work.
I don't know why #FromSoftware games have such a hold on me but it sure beats existential boredom and/or dread.
Update on Dark Souls: decided not to do the rest of the DLC, so I summoned Solaire and beat Lord Gwyn!
Started a Dark Souls 2 char, but then, Remnant 2 is coming out on the 25th, and the Atelier Marie Remake comes out on the 12th, so I can easily see myself getting distracted from that...
(I'm figuring that I'll go through the DLC some other time on the DS games, because not doing the DLC is a large amount of how I'm actually beating the games...)

I mentioned a while back that I've spend a good deal of time in & the Dark Souls games & never won because I always end up doing something else for a while & starting a new char next time I play.
I also broke that record a while back by winning Dark Souls 3, with a char that went from a bandit knife to Anri's sword with max luck. Part of the trick was that I didn't do a lot of the DLC.
Well, I'm doing the same thing with DS 1 now. This char. ran and got the Great Scythe first thing, and I've been using it all game. Killed Pricilla, too, to get the Lifehunt Scythe, but my now +15 Great Scythe is pretty good!
Well, at this point, I've got the lord vessel, &killed all 4 lords. I did kill the sanctuary guardian, too, & I could *probably* beat Artorias (fought him 2-3 times), but I might just take out Gwyn. I did fight him once, or rather, I ran into the arena & he killed me.
Pretty sure I saved Solaire, too, so I'm going to summon him if I can...
