My first day back in the office this year wasn't a mad crush of work;

I came home after a long day to find that my sweetie made me a very yummy dinner;

and the third one needs some background. When I was a kid, I was unable to attend school in person for several years because of illness. (This was well in the pre-Internet era; there were no cyber schools. There was barely PBS.) The local school system sent a teacher to my house for an hour or two three times a week. I learned times tables, #DannyKaye songs, quilting -- and, most importantly, I had a human connection during a time of profound isolation. Today was the 100th anniversary of that beloved teacher's birth. Here's to the memory of the woman I later called "Aunt Ruth".
