Immediately before its signature, #US Secretary of State #RobertLansing signed a declaration confirming Denmark's rights to #Greenland.
#Trump's breach of the promise is of course deeply dishonourable. But it's also entirely consistent with the #USA's 19th-century expansion by signing then discarding treaties with #NativeAmericans.
Trump is upholding American tradition.
