#DahliaInBloom is a mid isekai with “we have Ascendence of a Bookworm at home” vibes but I’m not mad about it. The premise is cute and I like the magic as tech world building. There’s even a bit if romance mixed in, even if the characters are too caught up in their careers to think about love. They still enjoy each others company, which is a sure sign of compatibility.
Not a bad watch at all.

It feels like I’m pretty alone with it (the show was nominated as worst anime of the season by two ANN reviewers) but I liked #DahliaInBloom a lot. I’m repeating myself because I wrote it a few episodes ago, but overall I just enjoy the mix. Seeing the characters enjoy food, set up a business and tinker with magic tools was just relaxing. And I like that Dahlia and Wolf are explicitly not having romantic feelings for each other, although others interpret it that way.
I can absolutely see how the bad production values can ruin it and how the second half may be boring if you expected something else. Maybe I’m just happy with this because a friend who is very familiar with the manga pitched the story as exactly what it became 😁

I can’t believe how much I like #DahliaInBloom. The anime quality is really not great but I just dig the whole mix of content. The tinkering with magic to recreate technical devices, the running a business, the laid-back discussions over nice food and the unexpected focus on a wholesome platonic relationship between a man and a woman.
I didn’t know I need this but I really do.
