💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: Engineers at #RiceUniversity built a flexible patch containing engineered human #cells sealed in gel capsules.

The cells release healing #proteins called #cytokines directly at the injury site for days. In #mice and #pigs, treated wounds closed faster than untreated ones. The patch hasn’t been tested on #humans yet, but the approach could eventually help chronic wounds that won’t heal on their own.
