Here’s hoping. The band aid that banning teenagers from Social media needs to be replaced by a proper fix for the problems engineered, cynically by Meta and others.

Needless to say, our ‘governments’ will not be quick to act.

Does anyone remember a movie or TV show episode in which a character, accused of cynicism, possibly while eating a bowl of ice cream in an #icecream shop, replies: "I'm not cynical about ice cream."?

Is that a real line from a real movie (or TV show), or am I just making #movies in my head (like, all the time, they're usually better than what's showing at the Mongo-plex)?

My grandson is not cynical about ice cream.

Diogenes, in accord with his #Cynic philosophy, would not be #cynical about ice cream in our sense of the word. He would enjoy the hell out of it.

Whereas false negatives are less likely to have negative consequences *for the platform* because users will simply assume original advice was fine but symptoms have changed.

And health services don't usually ask: Why didn't you come in earlier? So they will never spot the impact of the platform.

OK, I am very #cynical. But nothing like this is launched without conscious choices about weighting false negatives vs positives.
