Another weekend, another #cyclingtrip, another #beach – again a sandy one of more than 4 km length at #Bibione, #Italy. I love how some seaside towns, aimed primarily at tourists, are almost like ghost towns in the winter. Some kind of unusual peace and tranquility. Given the number of hotels and other accommodations, I would probably go crazy in the heat and crowds here in the summer.

Contemplating on yesterday's sunny #cyclingtrip to #ValleVecchia between Caorle and Bibione at #GolfodiVenezia. I am not a fan of sandy beaches, but this wild #beach was very nice. Perhaps I should start reconsidering them if I want to cycle the Polish shores of the Baltic sea at some point... Sea temperature was at 11 degrees, so enough for a short dip.

The last #cyclingtrip of 2025 was short and leisurely, only as far as Miramare and Grignano. Still, there was something new — a visit (though only from the outside) to the gate on the building at the #Sartorio pier in #Trieste/#Trst, behind which there is a device that determines the mean #sea level, relative to which elevations in Slovenia and some nearby countries are defined, and which dates back to the Austro-Hungarian era!

Escape from the disgusting (sometimes I call it mystic) fog in Ljubljana to the #Primorska region of #Slovenia, to get some sun! A weak bora wind was cooling, so it wasn’t that hot ;) Everywhere was peaceful, with almost no traffic and great fresh air. To be repeated in winter, when central Slovenia is dripping wet of fog. This time the #cyclingtrip was from Sežana to Nova Gorica, and I used the train to get to/from there (as usually).
