"#AgeVerification" IS the #IllicitActivity!

  • You cannot verify age without ID'ing someone to an extent.
  • Unlike verification in meatspace, there is no good way to do so remotely/online!
  • Anything similar is basically "#KYC with extra steps"!

The problem with leaving a chat system that has now a blanket age verification thing on it, is that any other chat platform that gets sufficiently large will also be required to do so, since it's in the laws that these chat companies interact with.

@cmccullough I literally had a highschool graduate starting a traineeship in 2019 who up to that point had never used a Keyboard or Mouse.

  • I was stunned because neither was this person stupid nor poor nor uneducated.

But starting an apprenticeship in the administration of a healthcare facility one would've guessed that said person would at least know absolute basics.

  • Personally, I am shocked that not even abdolute fundamentals in terms of #TechLiteracy are being taught at schools. And I'm not even talking about proper operating systems and shell scripting, but absolute fundamentals like "How to turn on a computer?" and "How to turn off a computer?"…

No wounder #Cyberfascists have it easy to abuse #TechIlliterates: They are like North Koreans who don't kniw the very concepts of "Civil Rights" and "HumanRights"…
