THE AXOLOTL MAN or... you know, something like that maybe.

HE USED TO BE AN AXOLOTL BUT THEN ONE DAY... HE GOT THE TASTE FOR HUMAN FLESH*. From that day on he ate from the people who dared enter the water, and with time the saying "you are what you eat" did the rest.

He now stalks the area around where axolotls can be found, eating humans as well as anything that would ever harm an axolotl. That way he is actually helping axolotls from becoming extinct, so at least he's got that going for him.
