#ElectricBoilers are not as efficient as #HeatPumps, which often produce 4x as much heat energy compared to electric energy consumed. But these boilers are cheap, quick to deploy and flexible to run, so they can absorb any wind power peaks and provide balancing services to the grid. This reduces the need for wind #curtailment and additional inertia.

Unfortunately household boilers cannot benefit from such development since the electricity tax incentive is not available for units below 500kW.
