☠️ Oval Mausoleum. Cemitério de Agramonte, Porto, Portugal

A three-level oval mausoleum and a large central skylight that filters natural light through glass floor panels to the subterranean level.

Its walls are lined with repositories, a grand ossuary for those unable to afford private plots.

The building is part of a maintained municipal cemetery.

🏛️ 🇩🇪 A grand old tomb, towering over a German graveyard. It is the final resting place for a wealthy family of the late 19th century.

The interior features a rotunda with a coffered dome and a central skylight (oculus). The upper level contains a small altar and a mosaic floor. A wide stone staircase leads to an undercroft where the family is interred.

☠️ The Church of The Baron, Romania

Within years of its completion, both the Baron and his wife were interred here.

Today, only the altar and a few pews remain inside the stripped interior. The impressive domed ceiling is gradually collapsing, and a rickety spiral staircase provides the only access to the twin bell towers.

Random aside: I lost my glasses at this location. I loved those glasses!
