PaulI picked up a handful of 19” & 21” CRTs last year, mostly gateways with nice Mitsubishi tubes. Unfortunately they were stored in not the best environment and several had intermittent flyback ticking issues.
I don’t want to jinx it, but it seems like 6+ months in a cool, dry basement was just what they needed, because they seem to be a lot more stable now.
I’m stoked about this one in particular since it was also badged fur Sun, and will make a good companion to my SparcStation.

Whenever a TV news channel showed footage that included a #CRT, some parts of the CRT picture would be brighter than others. Never actually black, but less bright.
But did those CRTs look steady if viewed in person? Or did they noticeably flicker? I never got a chance to compare. By the time I had a high-quality video camera (i.e. modern smartphone) in my possession, I had long since gotten rid of my last CRT.
