Played another round of #CrossBronxExpressway tonight. It's just really, really good. We also learned from our mistakes last time and managed the city well. We still haven't used the position cards, so i would like to try their impact next time. But even more so, this leaves me aching for a real #COIN which is already waiting on the shelf... #AllBridgesBurning . Maybe next time.

Ich habe gestern eine weitere Runde #CrossBronxExpressway gespielt. Es ist einfach... fantastisch. Mein Highlight war, dass dies die erste Runde mit meinem besten Freund war, der sonst take-that in Spielen absolut meidet. Aber durch den semi-kooperativen Ansatz wurde das komplett gedreht und er würde jetzt sogar andere #COIN Spiele mit mir probieren wollen. Man wird einfach gezwungen ständig zu überlegen, wie weit man die aktuelle Situation zu seinen Gunsten dehnen kann, ohne zu verlieren. 1/2

I played quite a bit in November, most of it was due to spending my last 3 days at #VPSCon . As usual I mostly played #18xx there. One was a prototype, #18Bavaria which I've now seen develop over some type and it's definitely in a playable state. Main feature is the intertwined back and forth between canals and trains at the time. Interesting! My highlight were a rediscovered #18Korea (silly fun with good decisions) and the new #CrossBronxExpressway @18xx #brettspiele #bgstats #boardgames

I played #CrossBronxExpressway today for the first time. It was some kind of side event at a Con where we mostly played #18xx but all 3 of us enjoyed it so much that it's now already set up for a replay tomorrow morning. Super slick gameplay with subtle ways to interact and incentivise each other and fantastic production. Love the layout and design of the extensive rules, play books and historical background. Looking forward to it and now need to play a real #COIN #boardgame #brettspiele

Intressant att höra #nbsp1618 prata om sin bakgrund, Bronx' historia och varför han designade brädspelet #CrossBronxExpressway.

Jag speltestade det lite för mer än ett år sen, och nu är spelet klart och har nog ändrat sig en del från dess. Har dock bestämt mig inte köpa det. Jag har ingen grupp att spela det med just nu.

Robert Moses created havoc in neighborhoods by building highways in the middle of densely populated areas. This pic here shows a segment of the Cross Bronx Expressway being in the process of demolishing homes. Just trace an imaginary line as the construction will tear apart the neighborhoods.

There's been consideration to opening one or both of the currently closed tunnels beneath #WashingtonHeights (178th, 179th street) that serviced the #GeorgeWashingtonBridge before the #CrossBronxExpressway was built as #bikenyc tunnels. Would connect the east side greenway running along the Harlem River with the west side greenway at the #LittleRedLighthouse on the Hudson River.

Do a light show too?

Plans in 2004 to reactivate to reduce vehicle congestion.
