It’s been a while since my last post, I’ve just not found the time between work, stalking wildlife, renovations and tracking down a specialty lens…

Here’s the first photo with the new-to-me lens that I’m truly proud of: a female ruby-throated hummingbird (colibris a gorge rubis, en français), sipping nectar from a fiery-red crocosmia flower at the cottage in Rawdon, Quebec.

Taken with Nikon D850, Nikkor 400mm f/2.8, 1/1250s, iso 400, handheld. Cropped, but otherwise unedited.

The Crocosmia is starting to flower.

(also lovely colours on the old CZJ 135mm lens)

Happy #MacroMonday . I think these are #crocosmia flowers.

I post one original photo per day, and I try to include full exposure details so you can learn from my mistakes. We are all learning.

#Pentax K-S2 with smc DA 35mm Limited Macro F2.8, ƒ/5, 1/500sec @ ISO 200 .

Photographed July 2023. Thank you for looking.
