Nor do vaccines.
Neurodivergent people having hot, wild sex does, and GUESS WHAT, fucknugget, if you have an autistic kid, you or someone in your family is probably autistic and you’re projecting your fear and shame and eugenicist bullshit onto them. Your kid doesn’t deserve that.
Pregnant people deserve comfort and choices.
Bodies shouldn’t be political battlegrounds. Period.
Do y’all really hate disabled people so fucking much that you’d rather your kid suffer from easily preventable disease and risk becoming – guess what – disabled than have them be autistic because you heard about a study that’s long since been proven false?
If you do, you probably shouldn’t be a parent at all, because you’re exactly the sort of slimy motherfucker who will end up being your kid’s first bully if they end up being any sort of different from the perfect little reflection of you you have in mind. I saw this post yesterday.
I have some things to say about it.
Fuck the hardliners, as long as you’re doing your best to be a decent human being, all progress is good progress and the best praxis is to start right now with exactly what you have. There is no single definition of what being a “good leftist” looks like, and even if there WERE, there would need to be accommodations made for disabled people, Mad people, poor people, cultural nuances, etc..
Additionally, as an ex Mormon and a cripple punk, I wish leftists who talk like rebranded Christians would understand how nonsensical their takes sound. Nothing will get fixed without real progress and real work from real people, and that involves being patient when people fuck up, working together in community, and actively building a better world together, however we all can contribute, no matter how small. There will be no Revolution without progress made in the first place ffs.
So if all you could do is survive and take care of yourself today, I think that’s good praxis. Self care is community care, and I’m glad as fuck you’re still here. If all you can do is share memes and news, that’s a form of activism in and of itself, and I think that’s good praxis. If you’re making art, writing things, being a performer or creative in any way, even if you’re only sharing it with your friends, partner(s), and/or family? Art is political. This, too, is good praxis. If you can do more? Badass. That’s also good praxis. Please don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

This whole “good genes” Sydney Sweeney ad thing pisses me the fuck off. off. You wanna know why?? Because my existence was LITERALLY PLANNED OVER MULTIPLE GENERATIONS to create the smartest, most beautiful child possible. MULTIPLE GENERATIONS OF PEOPLE PLOTTED AND SCHEMED AND SEDUCED to create at least TWO GENERATIONS of INCREASINGLY BRILLIANT AND BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN (BY WESTERN SOCIETAL STANDARDS) and THEY TOUCHED THE ROBE OF GOD, AS IT WERE. My paternal uncle was a goddamn genius and absolutely lovely by every Western definition, but a mind like that is HELL ON EARTH. He OVERDOSED ON HEROIN IN 1999. I NEVER GOT TO KNOW HIM. My father, my feral, brilliant father, the elder of the two, made it to 47 before dying of two different counts of brain cancer and nearly took himself out from alcoholism before the tumors did. I’ll say it again. A MIND LIKE THAT IS HELL ON EARTH. My father’s side allegedly has “good genes”. But that’s a crock of CRAP. Genes are genes.
And then there’s me. I was the next generation. I am every bit as brilliant as my father and my uncle. Many of you have SEEN what I can do. But I was born with HYPERMOBILE JOINTS AND HAD A STROKE AND HEART FAILURE AND MANY MANY OTHER THINGS ON TOP OF THAT LATER ON. MY VERY VERY ABLEIST, IMAGE OBSESSED FAMILY HAD NO FUCKIN CLUE WHAT TO DO WITH MY COCKROACH CRIPPLED ASS. SO THEY PSYCHOLOGICALLY TORTURED ME. FOR YEARS.
I have “good genes”. Allegedly. BUT THAT IS BULLSHIT. My hypermobile joints, addictive tendencies, and turbocharged mind that tortures me far beyond what my family EVER DID SCREAM OTHERWISE. GENES ARE GENES. A COMPLETE LUCK OF THE DRAW.
Fuck this ableist, racist, eugenicist complete crock of FUCKERY.
