My submission was accepted for the #DesertBus #CraftAlong this year! I started on this months ago with the hope that I'd be selected, so I'm already about 90% done. This #Nier inspired #CrossStitch sampler has one more row of designs to go before it's ready for ironing and framing. There's 40,000 stitches in this so I've still got plenty left to finish up during the craft along.

My submission (final artwork below!) was accepted for the #DesertBusForHope #Craftalong Any recommendations on what yarn to use? I can't seem to find all the colors I need in Caron Simply Soft which is what I used last year. I need something that is nice but inexpensive because I will need at least one skein each of 14 different colors. (4/x) First sketch of the first couple! Not 100% happy with Asami here, but very happy with Korra. I'll probably adjust these sketches digitally, if needed, and trace them onto my final paper for watercolour once I'm fully satisfied with them.

(Definitely not confident enough in my illustration skills to sketch directly on my final paper!)

Lunchtime makes for #craftalong planning time:
Change up the front to be larger with larger resin spots that go all the way to the core of the cover:
4 wooden slats
Bus windows and storage doors will be floating wood pieces that get glued down, then the stars, cloud, bus, cacti, and tumbleweed get filled with resin.
Should match the back nicely and be easy to get everything matched and filled with binary resin so I don't have the UV resin problems I've had wtih the first front.

This might be it! I am happy to share the tentative final draft of Unicorn At Rest In The Lilac Wood. I made the flowers blue to match better with the mane and made both cliff faces the same combinations of purple. Sanded and oiled. You can see more damage to the goblin side, so I'll be converting that to a wall hanger and making a new front cover for the #CraftAlong book.

Should I go with the grey or the purple? The purple fits for a magical forest but the grey is less busy and doesn’t detract focus from the Unicorn. Sorry about the quality, it’s 260x360 pixels and will eventually be a Twin sized #crochet blanket. I would love to know what y’all think, advice is welcome! Still fine tuning things on my submission for the #craftalong It still has a ways to go but I am happy with the direction its going. I must have changed the background colors about 50 times at least. Idk what to do with the top, it needs something but idt the mossy fringe is it.
