Mark HAn hour's walk on a different route than we'd normally take and now it's time to offset that ridiculous sense of healthiness with some beers in the brewery. Dry January be damned. I'm on the Hypnotic Wave IPA while my wife's gone for the Thistly Cross Whisky Cider.

Cheeky pint in the local brewery for lunch time. Wife's on the Thistly Cross cider while I'm trying the new Astro Juice IPA with malt, oats, and New Zealand Galaxy hops. Good mouth feel, nice balance.

First Saturday since we got back from our last holiday that the weather's been good enough to head up to our local brewery and show our faces.
Starting with a Daisy Chains for me and a Happy Pils for my wife. Hoping that the "happy" part kicks in soon because she's moaning that the last brewery she was in was in Barbados and she had a Bond villain chair to sit in rather than on a bench.

dodeDiscovering a great craft beer scene in Poland, a great selection of breweries turning out solid ales, wheat beers and sours possibly twisted a little by the local fondness for throwing fruit syrups into beers.
The focus seems to be more on beers with lower strength with less of the high strength doubles that seem popular back home.
The standout beer find has been Grodziskie, smoked wheat malt, light and low in alcohol a perfect beer for warm evenings. Once described as Polish champagne, every brewery seems to have one, so far Moon Lark brewery has been my favourite. The only downside is the beer is often cleared with isinglass.
The first time I was in Poland I recall three beers from a few different breweries the last time I was here on holiday at the opposite end of the country it didn't seem to have changed that much.
