My wife and I had COVID shots yesterday, in preparation for some upcoming travel. Feeling a bit achey and might just nap most of this afternoon. Although I never need an excuse to nap.

Some information from Force of Infection on the latest Covid variant âCicadaâ BA.3.2.
(Force of Infection is in the process of moving off substack to their own site.)
The chart in this article shows the evolutionary paths, with labels for the variants with vaccines. Weâre back on a new/old path of Omicron.
I have concerns that going back to an older evolutionary line will bring back a higher percentage of Long Covid (not that it had decreased much, but I read that the previous newer variants had slightly lower percentages).

Coworker shares that a relative had a stroke a few weeks ago. âSuper healthyâ, ate only organic food, etc.
A second relative of the coworker recently had a stroke and died.
The coworker laments that itâs been a bad couple of years for âmedical stuffâ. Theyâve personally been dealing with a bunch of things I wonât get into.
Is it *because of* #COVID? Of course weâll never know for sure. But maybe it should be worth considering? And more importantly, taking any action at all to avoid? But theyâd rather blame the vaccine.

My 71 year old neighbor recently got his spring #Covid booster because that is STILL A GOOD IDEA!
Sideshow Bob may be doing less than nothing to promote this lifesaving measure, but spring boosters are still recommended for people who are 65+ and/or immune compromised.
YMMV depending on your state government, unfortunately, but we're lucky to live somewhere that isn't too screwed up.
Just got an email from the company from where I order my N95 masks. 3M is implementing a 6% 'supply chain increase' across all products, effective April 2, 2026. Stock up on N95 masks now if you can afford it!

My local pharmacy say they should have vaccine stocks for spring covid boosters next week. so that's nice.
For most of us, covid isn't the deadly threat that it once was, but it can still be pretty nasty. Better to get vaccinated and reduce the risk as much as possible.
