Yes, however it's probably good practice to put your hash tags at the end of your post.
Consider what your text would sound like to reader who relies on screen reading software.
Also for these folk it's common courtesy or good etiquette to add 'Alt' text to describe the content of the images you post as well.
Im guessing many people who need this gravitate here because Mastadon is more welcoming in this way, compared to other platforms.
