#Genova 🇮🇹 to #Vienna 🇦🇹 with #ÖBB #Nightjet, displayed as #EuroNight on the departure board. I’m travelling in a #couchette car of the #Jenbach type. These comfortable carriages were originally built in the early 1980s and have received several upgrades since.

Neu Isenburg 🇩🇪 in September 2007. This used to be the stop for car-carrying trains in the #Frankfurt area. #DB #AutoZug trains were “Sleeper And Eater” services: see the #BordBistro @diningcar in the centre of the photo, a #couchette car on the left and a #sleeper on the right.
Almost a @diningcar: this České dráhy 🇨🇿 #couchette carriage comes with a small buffet section, located behind the two smaller windows visible at the far end. The car was running in the consist of a day train though, when I photographed it at Česká Třebová
in April 2008.

The #SNCF 🇫🇷 night train to #Paris awaits departure at #Briançon in the French Alps. The train is labelled #Intercités and comes with 1st and 2nd class #couchette accommodation. Two #BB75300 diesels work the long consist as far as #Valence where an electric loco will take over.
Morning at #Paris 🇫🇷 Bercy station, early 2000s: arrival of an #Artesia overnight service from #Italy 🇮🇹. An #SNCF class #BB26000 #Sybic is hauling a long consist of #FS #sleeping 🛏️ and #couchette cars, the first one behind the loco being an #Excelsior sleeper.
