Paul HellyerWe watched Cottontail (AroVideo) last night. It's a beautiful, moving film about a Japanese man grieving for his wife. He, along with their son, carries out her last wish to have her ashes scattered on Lake Windermere in England, a place of childhood happiness long ago that inspired a lifelong love of the tales of Beatrix Potter. The man and the son have a fraught relationship, for reasons that aren't entirely clear, but they must navigate that and their shared grief as they travel to England to fulfil their quest. It's a warm, moving, and gently told story of imperfect people doing their best to get through the death of a loved wife and mother.
