Working on my first cinnamon snowflake (star) bread of the season. The dough will cold proof overnight in the fridge before being shaped and baked tomorrow morning.

It's basically an ostentatious cinnamon roll and makes for a yummy breakfast treat, or lunch treat, or dinner treat.... who am I kiddin? Its basically good anytime 😆

Did a practice run at Pan de Muerto today. Glad I did too cause there was stuff I had forgotten. I def had my dough a little too wet, the "bones" didn't hold their shape very well and I needed the practice on where to place the indentations on the cross pieces. Its been a while since I made these.

One of them had a mishap with the center ball.

They still taste delicious, even if my shaping was a bit off! 😊

Dropped off my fave fall pie flavor, my Harvest Home Apple Pie. The filling for this pie is two kinds of apples with dried cranberries and pecans, spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg and topped with a streusel top crust.

Kind of a cousin to a Dutch Apple pie.

Have had a fair amount of rain in this area the last few days. Today, however, is bright and sunny. Gonna uncover the grill tonight and grill up some burgers so my project this morning was sourdough buns to put them on! Here they are fresh out of the oven.

Just dropped off a couple of these bad boys, my carmelized peach and raspberry pie. This is one of my fave summer pies that I do. It's basically my pie form take on a grilled peaches Melba dessert. Carmelizing the peaches adds an additional layer to the flavor to the peaches.
