La presidente del Consiglio Giorgia Meloni risponde in modo diretto e inequivocabile alle critiche dell'opposizione sulla sua mancata partecipazione al vertice europeo in Montenegro. "Le polemiche sul presunto isolamento le lascio volentieri a una sinistra disperata, per quanto invece riguarda chi adombra ragioni politiche per la mia assenza, ricordo che quando ho qualcosa da dire, la dico", dichiara la premier in una intervista al Corriere in cui sottolina: "Gli atteggiamenti infantili o morettiani 'mi si nota di più se vengo o se non vengo' li lascio volentieri ad altri".
 "Sulla scelta di non partire non c'è nessuna dietrologia - spiega Meloni - I tempi si sono allungati alla festa dei Carabinieri e non mi è sembrato il caso di andare in Montenegro per stare massimo un'ora. Capita a tutti i leader di non partecipare a qualche vertice, ne sono personalmente testimone essendo una dei più presenti, ma sono quasi certa di essere l'unica al mondo per la quale si scatenano queste polemiche ridicole".
Non solo. A scanso di equivoci Meloni ribadisce: "Se avessi avuto ragioni per non partecipare a un vertice men che meno avrei usato quello con i Balcani, visto che l'Italia è tra i principali sostenitori dell'integrazione dei Balcani in Europa e io ho ottimi rapporti con tutti i leader della regione", conclude la presidente del Consiglio.

Il caso della grazia concessa dal Quirinale a Nicole Minetti è chiuso da giorni: l'istruttoria contenente gli accertamenti, condotti dalla Procura Generale presso la Corte d'Appello di Milano, ha confermato la correttezza dell'iter di concessione dell'atto di clemenza per l'ex consigliera regionale lombarda, condannata a 3 anni e 11 mesi nei processi 'Ruby bis' 'Rimborsopoli' e graziata lo scorso 18 febbraio. Oggi, a scoppio ritardato a causa dei tempi delle comunicazioni diplomatiche, si scopre anche che la presunta supertestimone che era alla base dell'inchiesta de Il Fatto che ha fatto scoppiare il caso ha di fatto fornisce una versione opposta. 

La massaggiatrice uruguaiana Graciela Mabel De Los Santos, infatti, già nella seconda metà di maggio si era recata da un notaio per far redigere una dichiarazione giurata in Uruguay. Accompagnata da un suo avvocato, riporta il Corriere della sera, la donna ha fatto registrare un atto notarile con una sua dichiarazione giurata, che l'avvocato ha poi consegnato all'ambasciata italiana e che è arrivata a Milano il 3 giugno, quando ormai la Procura Generale già aveva concluso la propria istruttoria e comunicato le conclusioni con la nota che parlava di "notizie di stampa non rispondenti al vero".

Ma cosa dice la massaggiatrice? Secondo quanto riportato "esordisce spiegando di volere fare chiarezza ed escludendo di sapere alcunché sul ruolo di Minetti in giri organizzati di prostituzione nel ranch di Cipriani", mentre nel resto della dichiarazione parla, recriminando, "delle dinamiche delle proprie interlocuzioni con il Fatto".

In Tunisia, “Il Corriere di Tunisi” celebrates 70 years of Mediterranean Italian-speaking.

AGI - In Tunisia, the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Il Corriere di Tunisi, which ended on May 23rd in the Tunisian capital, highlighted the unique role of this publication, the only Italian-language daily in North Africa. Founded in 1956 by Giuseppe Finzi, the newspaper accompanied the evolution of relations between Rome and Tunis through the major political transformations of the Maghreb and the Mediterranean Europe. The ceremonies held at the Santa Croce complex, in the heart of the Tunis medina, brought together diplomats, academics, writers and representatives of the Italian community for a broader reflection on the future of the Italophone world and Euro-Mediterranean cultural exchanges.

Italian President Sergio Mattarella addressed a message to the newspaper’s readers, describing relations between Italy and Tunisia as “the foundation of a solid partnership,” nourished by “centuries of shared history in the Mediterranean basin.” The Italian head of state emphasized that Il Corriere di Tunisi remains “a privileged space for dialogue and encounter” for the Italian community in Tunisia as well as for the many Italian-speaking and Italian-loving Tunisians.

Italian Ambassador to Tunis, Alessandro Prunas, insisted on the increasingly strategic dimension of Tunisia in Rome’s projection in the Mediterranean. According to him, the newspaper represents “much more than a publication, but a true bastion of the Italophone world in North Africa.”

This anniversary is all the more significant at a time when the Mediterranean basin is experiencing new geopolitical fractures, from the migration crisis to regional tensions. The Italian-language newspaper founded in Tunis after Tunisia’s independence still claims its vocation as a bridge between the two shores.

A Strategic Partnership in Expansion
Ambassador Prunas recalled that approximately 50,000 Tunisian students are learning Italian today, while the number of study visas granted to Tunisians for Italian universities has sharply increased in recent years. This dynamic is part of a phase of strengthening bilateral relations, marked by the intensification of academic, economic and cultural exchanges, as well as new projects related to the Piano Mattei promoted by the Italian government in North Africa.

A Euro-Mediterranean Editorial Evolution
The newspaper’s director, Silvia Finzi, daughter of the former editor Elia Finzi, traced the editorial evolution of the publication, particularly its transition from Corriere di Tunisi to Corriere Euro-Mediterranean. This change, according to her, reflected the desire to promote “a Mediterranean culture based on exchange, coexistence and dialogue.” In a regional context marked by identity tensions and conflicts, she defended the idea that “talking about coexistence in the Mediterranean remains possible.”

Living Language and Shared Memory
Beyond the memory of the Italian community in Tunisia, the celebrations also highlighted the role of the newspaper in the living learning of the Italian language. Manca, now 72 years old, spent decades between hiding, arrests, and detention, until collaboration with justice and a path that he now recounts also in a documentary film dedicated to his life. Il corpo di Giorgia Sommacal è stato recuperato ieri, insieme a quello della ricercatrice Muriel Oddenino, al termine delle difficili operazioni nelle grotte sommerse dell’atollo di Vaavu, alle Maldive, dove giovedì scorso hanno perso la vita cinque sub italiani durante un’immersione. The body of Giorgia Sommacal was recovered yesterday, along with that of researcher Muriel Oddenino, at the end of the difficult operations in the submerged caves of the Vaavu atoll, in the Maldives, where five Italian divers lost their lives last Thursday during a dive. And Carlo Sommacal, the father of the 23-year-old, who died in those caves along with her mother Monica Montefalcone, a professor at the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Genoa and wife of Carlo, told Corriere della Sera about the pain of these hours: “This morning the Farnesina called me: they also recovered my Giorgia’s body. Now they have found both of them. But I’m still talking about it in the present, because I still can’t realize that they’re not there anymore.”

What Carlo Sommacal hopes for is to avoid direct recognition of the bodies: “I’m afraid I don’t have the strength. I fear that I might have a heart attack in front of them and that Matteo (the youngest son, ed.) could be left alone in the world.” For this reason, he sent photographs and indicated useful details for identification: “I sent Giorgia’s photos, I provided some of her physical characteristics. For Monica, I also indicated a particular tattoo.” Words full of sorrow, while he asks not to hear “more speculation,” while clinging to a certainty: “Knowing that they have been found doesn’t make me feel better. That’s no. But less bad, yes.”

Ha rischiato di morire soffocato, rimanendo per lunghi minuti senza respirare. Un bambino di meno di un anno e mezzo ha subìto una “severa encefalopatia ipossico-ischemica”: è accaduto a Milano. Il piccolo si trovava all’asilo nido quando, a causa di una focaccina che gli è andata di traverso, è rimasto quasi mezz’ora senz’aria. A raccontarlo è il Corriere della Sera. Ora la procura della Repubblica di Milano ha aperto un’inchiesta per lesioni colpose gravissime cercando di stabilire l’esatta dinamica dell’accaduto e di stabilire le eventuali responsabilità.
Il fatto è avvenuto il pomeriggio del 4 febbraio scorso all’asilo nido di via Cerkovo: il piccolo stava facendo merenda insieme ai compagni quando un pezzetto di focaccia gli è rimasto incastrato in trachea. Dentro la struttura ci sono stati momenti concitati e di panico, ma nessuna delle educatrici presenti è riuscita ad aiutarlo a far uscire il pezzo andato di traverso. All’arrivo dei soccorsi, 12 minuti dopo, i sanitari hanno trovato il piccolo già in arresto cardiaco. Senza perdersi d’animo hanno rianimato il bambino per quasi 27 minuti, facendogli anche espellere il pezzo di focaccia.
Trasportato all’ospedale Niguarda di Milano, il piccolo aveva ormai avuto danni cerebrali estesi, una encefalopatia ipossico-ischemica che rischia di danneggiare le sue capacità fisiche e mentali. Dopo il ricovero al Niguarda, il bimbo è stato trasferito in una struttura specializzata nel Lecchese dove affronterà un percorso di riabilitazione.
Ora spetta alla pm milanese Daniela Bartolucci stabilire se ci siano responsabilità.

He risked dying from suffocation, remaining without breathing for several minutes. A child under 18 months old suffered a “severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy”: it happened in Milan. The little boy was at the daycare center when, because a focaccia went down the wrong way, he was almost half an hour without air. The Corriere della Sera reports this. Now the Milan public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation for aggravated reckless injury, trying to establish the exact dynamics of the incident and determine any responsibility.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of February 4th at the daycare center on Via Cerkovo: the little boy was having snack time with his classmates when a piece of focaccia became stuck in his trachea. There were moments of chaos and panic inside the facility, but none of the caregivers present were able to help him dislodge the piece that had gone down the wrong way. Upon arrival of the emergency services, 12 minutes later, the medics found the boy already in cardiac arrest. Without losing their composure, they revived the child for almost 27 minutes, also helping him expel the piece of focaccia.

Transported to the Niguarda Hospital in Milan, the little boy had already suffered extensive brain damage, a hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy which risks damaging his physical and mental abilities. After being hospitalized at Niguarda, the boy was transferred to a specialized facility at Lecchese where he will undergo a rehabilitation program.

Now it is up to the Milan public prosecutor Daniela Bartolucci to determine if there is any responsibility.
