Also, yes I am aware of inflation. Even when adjusted for inflation, the numbers are still too close. Copyright infringement is nowhere near as bad as war or The Holocaust (it isn't even a comparison, 0 damage versus almost 100% damage, had the genocide fully succeeded in killing all of its targets, it would be 100%) so why is it being treated so?

NOTE: I cannot fully confirm the $905b amount for German war reparations. This post will need a correction if a better source is found on this.

By the way, Spotify started out as an illegal file sharing site. They even contributed to the development of the BitTorrent protocol early on. It is possible that many of the original MP3 files are still being used to this day, and instead of people getting copies of them for free, they are now unknowingly paying for access to them (and not an actual copy of them) Pure hypocrisy!

RIAA example, for reference: a $75,000,000,000,000.00 (in 2010 money, this is equivalent to $104,714,174,718,939.55 as of 2026, March 16th at 11:59 pm PST) fine was issued by the RIAA in Arista Records LLC v. Lime Group LLC. This fine is larger than the entire global economy at the time. The RIAA in this trial was literally asking for all of the money in the world, and then some... over LimeWire.

Something to note:

The German Empire and Nazi Germany had/has (WW1 is paid off, but not WW2) to pay ~$905,000,000,000.00 for the tens of millions of people they killed, and unthinkable amount of destruction they caused in both World War I and World War II combined. These reparations still haven't been fully paid off in 2026.
Annas Archive "has" to pay ~$13,000,000,000,000.000.00 for sharing 6 terabytes of audio, and for hurting Corporate feelings (while killing/injuring 0 people, and causing no physical damage) (Spotify is worth $94.34 billion dollars (they are demanding over 138x more than they are worth, and Swedens total GDP is about $584.96 billion dollars, and is home to Spotify, which is demanding over 22x more money than the entire Swedish economy)

When will the Copyright regime learn to stop issuing these absorbent stupid fines? (see: RIAA) They don't work, and it just makes them look even worse, and even more incompetent. #copyright #copyfight #spotify #annasarchive #copyrightregime
