Interesting discussion since the software being compared is so dissimilar. On one hand you have #Debian and #Whonix with tor and full-scale computing platforms and, on the other, handheld ARM phones with what appears to be an association between #Google, #Fedora (RedHat "secure"blue), and #GrapheneOS. Very different values and communities, it seems. But there is no phone in the same contingent as the Whonix community, except. perhaps, for #CopperheadOS which is described as partner to the tor community.

GrapheneOS Attacks Kicksecure! What should the response be?

I do not know what the correct forum category is to post this. I presume that this category is okay? Please move the topic if there is a better forum category for it. https://xcancel.com/GrapheneOS/status/1861465637886754839#m Kicksecure is awful. Has a horrible choice of base OS for security and they don’t do valuable work to improve it. They sabotaged security efforts and are spreading misinformation about allocator hardening and other topics they don’t understand. Secureblue is doing usef...

Copperhead is tracking users and manipulating people to use CopperheadOS

I recently made a post about how GrapheneOS is currently in a lawsuit with Copperhead. In short, Copperhead, a phone company based in Toronto, has...

It's part of their continued attempts to fraudulently claim ownership over my work and to misrepresent themselves as the ones who created it. I started the project in 2014 before the company was founded in late 2015. The project has never been owned or controlled by Copperhead.

@salixlucida
Huh? I think you meant to say #CopperheadOS has been hijacked. #GrapheneOS is Daniel's personal continuation of his original project.

@_trojka

#CalyxOS pulls in some code from, and I think possibly sponsors, #GrapheneOS

GrapheneOS is a continuation of Daniels work and builds upon his cod, that was incorporated into #Copperhead #CopperheadOS. It was his work that made that project interesting

I've been following and posting about development of these and related OSs follow the hashtags.

I checked out the #Purism booth at #LibrePlanet. They have a dev kit for their new #Librem phone. It's still pretty rough but it works.

Looks like #GTK apps should generally work, though they have something for app developers called libhandy that aids in responsive design (adapting to different screen sizes) like CSS can on the web.

I'm excited for this phone to come out. I got burnt by the #CopperheadOS fiasco. This company is _probably_ structured differently so I don't expect the same fate.

#CopperheadOS, which absolutely IS NOT a dead project that was killed by it's CEO James Donaldson, apparently forgot to renew it's #SSL certificate.

I don't know about you, but I completely trust a #mobile #security company that doesn't have proper procedures in place for renewing certs...
