Il presidente Usa, Donald Trump, ha dichiarato che potrebbe ordinare una nuova azione militare contro l’Iran se questo si “comportasse male” o se facesse “qualcosa di brutto”. Il tycoon ha però difeso quello che ha definito un “blocco amichevole”.
Trump ha poi dichiarato che gli Stati Uniti “ridurranno drasticamente” il numero di soldati americani di stanza in Germania, in un contesto di crescente spaccatura transatlantica sulla guerra in Medio Oriente. “Ridurremo il contingente ben oltre i 5.000 uomini”, riferendosi alla decisione di Washington di ritirare tale numero di truppe lì dove al 31 dicembre 2025 erano presenti 36.436 soldati statunitensi in servizio attivo.
Giovedì l’Iran ha presentato agli Stati Uniti, tramite il mediatore Pakistan, una proposta aggiornata in 14 punti per un accordo quadro. Nello stesso giorno Trump è stato informato dal comandante del Centcom, l’ammiraglio Brad Cooper, sui nuovi piani per attacchi militari contro l’Iran. Cooper è poi partito per la regione e sabato ha incontrato i soldati a bordo della USS Tripoli nel Mar Arabico.

The U.S. President, Donald Trump, stated that he could order a new military action against Iran if it “behaved badly” or if it “did something bad.” However, the tycoon defended what he called a “friendly blockade.”

Trump then stated that the United States would “drastically reduce” the number of American soldiers stationed in Germany, in a context of growing transatlantic division over the war in the Middle East. “We will reduce the contingent far beyond 5,000 men,” referring to Washington’s decision to withdraw such a number of troops where there were 36,436 active U.S. soldiers as of December 31, 2025.

On Thursday, Iran presented the United States, via the mediator Pakistan, with an updated 14-point proposal for a framework agreement. The same day, Trump was informed by the commander of the Centcom, Admiral Brad Cooper, about the new plans for military attacks against Iran. Cooper then departed for the region and met with the soldiers aboard the USS Tripoli in the Arabian Sea on Saturday.
