It's interesting that I'm shopping for a backup single phase cooktop.

I want a 1200 - 1600W single element system, which is powerful enough to heat my massive pots in which I can cook for 8 people.

Up to last night, I've only found the small 800W - 1000W systems and dual element 1800W systems single phase, some with nude heating coils, others with synthetic pads covering them.

So the heat sensor in the main burner of the gas #CookTop has gone out. It will no longer stay lit, and the temperature control panel for deep-fry temp control is throwing an error. It will need to be replaced. Most of the cookware in the house will work with #inductuon, so it's time for the choice: replace the gas #hob, and probably the oven as well (the kit is very old) or shift to an electric #cooker.

A friend suggested I get a portable gas cooktop so I could cook with my wok, I told him that I would not, because I'm afraid of gas.

He told me his parents were too.

Apparently it's a thing some of us have, but are afraid to admit.

I had to call the plumber the last time my pilot light went out in my hot water service, he showed me what to do but there's no way I'm ever going to touch it.
