Golden Years Holiday Celebration Canceled Following Raleigh Convention Center Fire

The City of Raleigh’s Golden Years Holiday Celebration, a beloved seasonal tradition for many older adults, has been officially canceled following the fire at the Raleigh Convention Center earlier this week. The damage caused by the incident forced the closure of key event spaces, making it impossible for organizers to safely host the annual gathering.

As of yesterday, Carmen has not been able to reconnect with Ivey regarding the status of bus transportation refunds. City staff are still working through logistics and will issue guidance as soon as details are confirmed.

We understand this event is meaningful for many in our community, and we know residents are eager for answers. DoRaleigh.com. will share new information immediately once it is received, including updates on refunds, rescheduling (if applicable), and any alternative programming the City may offer.

If you were registered for the event, please stay tuned for official announcements.
