'Albert Heijn Apartheidvrij' was yesterday protesting in front of the Ahold Delhaize headquarters (a Dutch supermarket) to call them to stop selling products from Israel. They are doing this to protest against Israel's apartheid state, ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people and occupation of Palestine.

Tientallen activisten demonstreren woensdag bij het hoofdkantoor van Ahold Delhaize, het moederbedrijf van AH, tegen de verkoop van Israëlische producten bij de supermarktketen. ,,Door producten uit Israël te verkopen, spekt Albert Heijn de oorlogseconomie en de genocide in Gaza”, vinden zij. Critici stellen dat de actieclub hypocriet is en antisemitisme in de hand werkt.
Yesterday the people of #turkiye have boycotted all shops for one day and urged people to close their shops in support for the protests. There also is a call to #boycott businesses that support the government. This is done in protest against the arrest of Istanbul mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, who is president Erdogan his main political rival.
The government of #turkey is clearly fearing the effects of it, since they have tried to counter the boycott.

In #sweden last week people have been boycotting big supermarkets in the country in protest against the rapidly increasing grocery prices. Some call to extend the action for 3 weeks to #boycott the biggest supermarket of the country: Ica.
Although the economic effect seems to be limited, at least it started a conversation about the prices: #consumeractivism is effective.

Switching away from big tech not only makes you more technologically independent from these increasingly unreliable companies, it also breaks their monopolies and with that puts power back in your own hands.

Interesting website giving Fortune 100 companies a grade for how they are treating democratic values. Some surprise entries (for me at least), like Tesla getting a B, and Alphabet (Google) getting an F...
Remember that the dollars they spend on lobbying are the dollars you put in these companies. By informing yourself and being an #activistconsumer you can nudge the world in your direction.
