I think the most frustrating part of my job is that as an advanced #computertoucher I have to diagnose my own #IT issues, without the benefit of having a permanently elevated user account. No shade on our IT dept, they're great. But the regular guy is on sabbatical and the new guy don't know shit.

I need to use SMBv1 (yes, security vulns) at home because I have stuff on some old NAS drives that don't support v2+. But corporate secpoli restrict SMBv1 at the office.

Nothing quite like opening up your laptop to grab that pesky screw that's been rattling around loose in there for months, only to find that it is not the screw you expected and you have no idea where it's supposed to go... Oh well! Seems to be working fine without it.
