Lovely #catsofmastodon friends, I need your input if you have a second. Bear (6 months) loves all us humans and seems happy in her new home, but she is very attached to her carrier rather than her comfy bed (pictured) when it comes to sleeping. I’m not sure why that is, but I had some thoughts. Would you mind having a wee read and giving me your own theories? Thank you!!

It’s squisharriffic and she really seems to enjoy marching on it and lying on it and taking cat naps on it. But when it comes to actual deep sleeping, she hops back into her carrier, the carrier we brought her home in. There are no blankets in her carrier, no squishy toys, no creature comforts. Why would she want to sleep in there, instead of falling into a deep sleep in her soft bed? I’d love to know your input on this, but let me tell you the thought that I had, and you can see if you agree. Bear comes from a multi-cat family. She’s not a rescue, she lived with her siblings in comfort and love and then came to us. Could it be that the carrier still has the scent of her siblings? Could it be that the meowing when we leave the room is her calling out to them, because she still smells them? She’s certainly not stressed by any stretch of the imagination, but could removing the carrier, forcing her to sleep either in the soft bed or on the floor (or on the toilet she loves to get on top of), ultimately make her more comfortable, removing those nostalgia scents? Or, is it possible that in doing so, we make her more lonely? Please let me know, I’d love to know what you think!"
Charley just took over my lap, not complaining rather bragging haha suckas' 😂🤣
The ear was due to being part of the catch and release program before she came in from the outside when she chose us.
