I made the most of the clear night last night with a bit of landscape-astro - the Milky Way and comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) still very much visible just above the horizon.
There are hints of the aurora in pink against the right edge of the frame and some slightly greenish air-glow around the cloud layer as well.

The #comet is still there, but it's much fainter: I had to work to find it with averted vision (it was still a pretty sight in binoculars).

The coma tonight is right next to a star of just slightly fainter magnitude (Stellarium says it's HD 156539, magnitude 6.86) which makes for an interesting binocular comparison.

Comet Lapse ☄️

About an hour's worth of C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) setting over a dry lake in rural Australia, as the Milky Way appears.

The very very bright thing on the left is Venus.

The completely ridiculous streaks that look like anti-aircraft fire are all spamlink and frankly I had rather not had any of those in my photos, but apparently a fascist billionaire and a US government agency get to decide that I have to 🖕

Kometa C/2023 A3 jest jeszcze do ustrzelenia. ;-) Nawet w mieście. Oczywiście już nie gołym okiem.

Dziś spróbowałem obiektywem 300 mm i…
1) zapomniałem, żeby skrócić czas naświetlania, więc jest rozjechane
2) dodatkowo coś ciężko mi było ustawić ostrość,

ale coś tam widać.

W pewnym momencie z myśliwego (polującego na kometę) stałem się ofiarą (krwiożerczych komarów). 🤦‍♂️

Cloudy this evening, but here's my shot of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) last night ☄️

It's a 9 min stack of 5 sec images with my DSLR+85mm lens on a tripod, unguided, so the stars are slightly trailed 🤷‍♂️

I've removed a gradient due to light pollution over Mannheim, but there some residuals as I've kept the sky bright to trace the tail extending 10º towards β Oph & the IC4665 cluster at top-left & see the faint anti-tail below 👍

Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS and the Milky Way.

Finally the weather cooperated and I caught it in the evening sky! Although nowhere near as big and bright as it was in the morning sky a few weeks ago, the tail *was* still visible to the unaided eye from this dark spot.
