Whatever is going on at Columba College? The principal of the elite Dunedin girls' school has been on leave for three months. She emailed staff saying she was returning, only for the board to say "No, she's still on leave."
Amidst allegations of bullying there are suggestions that the instability is caused by "snobbery and anti-woke stuff" from "a core of influential, long-standing, "very conservative" staff members."
Some claim that the principal's "overtly religious rhetoric" alienated some students and staff. She removed a rainbow youth poster in front of students.
"On a non-uniform day, girls were instructed not to wear sleeveless attire because it made men "uncomfortable".
A teacher was told by a chaplain their classroom was possessed by an evil presence and the staff prayer group (featuring the principal) needed to cleanse it.
The chaplain allowed one girl to lead a prayer for the dead Nazi, Charlie Kirk.
It sounds like an intervention may be required.
