#weeklyreview 47/2025

Started my week with a good run in foggy conditions. The countryside looked like it’s only a 100x100m large, because beyond that everything disappeared in the fog. Reminded me of a low “render distance” setting in Minecraft.

Swimming went well and the water temperature is getting into challenging regions. It’s still liquid but the week has severely low temperature forecast. Many older people are predicting a cold winter. So maybe the #coldswim season will be shorter this year because the lake is too hard to swim.

“Drystone” – book giveaway

I posted about the fantastic book of Kristie De Garis “Drystone”, trying to help a bit with spreading the word. I’m giving away a free copy of the book within Germany for the next three month (3 books in total).

Unfortunately nobody reached out so for… dunno why. I hope it’s because my followers all have read the book already….

3D Printing again

Dusted off my 3D printer to print a small case for my #T-Echo #Meshcore Radio . The old bracket case was broken and I needed a new one.

I knew that my spool of filament was sitting on the printer in the open for quite some month and likely has drawn some humidity. That causes a lot of ugly stringing during print.

Used my food dehydrator to dry the filament for a few hours and the first print came out perfect.

Always amazed at how good the printer works even sitting idle for a few month. Didn’t do any calibration.

Meshing around

Looking further into #Meshcore and also #Zigbee stuff. Didn’t know that Zigbee devices also build a mesh to extend range. Will probably look into that for my next sensors. Currently still fully equipped with my SwitchBot sensors and hubs.

Also heard about the possibility to listen to Meshcore with SDR (software defined radio)

Meshcore is really nice meanwhile. I put my repeater outside on the balcony and that makes a huge difference.

Burgers!

The B&B crew met for the final burger session this year at the Burgeramt

Although this will not be the last gathering with the crew this year 😉 We’ve still got one more appointment with some geese and dumplings.

Singer Songwriter Concert

On Saturday we attended the Uwe Kolbergs Songwriter-Circle in Templin. He’s a local musician who grew up in the same street that I grew up in.

He gather 3 other singer and songwriter for a concert in the MKC Templin. It was an unusual arrangement with the little stage in the middle of the room.

So, die Winterbadesaison ist eröffnet. Die Gruppe trifft sich wieder regelmäßig am Sonntag am See. 🏊‍♀️

Gleich geht's los zur ersten Runde. Wassertemperaturen von ca. 14°C wird erwartet. Mal schauen was es dann wird.
