First off, if you are tuning in to see a Mother Juggs and Speed type comedy, forget about it. Despite its listing it is not an action comedy. So, be warned. Randy, a burnt out paramedic gets a new job at an insurance company and quits his job but has to put in one last 24 hour shift to train a newbie. What works so well in this film is the fact that it has some absolutely hysterical scenes that are tempered by some absolutely horrifyingly dramatic moments. And Rainn Wilson and Lil Rel Howery absolutely nail the performances as
Two movies, one about paramedic saving lives, another about survival in the (gig) economy. Both posing as comedies, but at the end stark warnings about (unequal and exploitative) society(-ies):
