A Father's Day with only two new books is weird, but my TBR is out of control, so I get it.
I usually treat myself to a few books after a holiday, but this year will be all about the upcoming Steam Summer Sale.
James Patterson will say it's libraries' fault, though. 🤡💩
Kaepernick had so much potential to do something good and chose this bullshit instead, despite getting plenty of feedback that it's a terrible idea. FOH!

Publishers choosing the nuclear option with James Patterson makes me think the recent library ebook bills are gaining real momentum and have a chance at succeeding.
They're sensing the tide is turning and are willing to risk their reputations to keep readers from having a consumer-friendly way to access ebooks that still makes them plenty of money.
If you're a publisher that doesn't support your primary political organization's agenda, now would be a good time to speak up.
I didn't realize there were two different organizations, but once you see the logos next to each other, the difference is so obvious. 🤡💩

If you want people to flee your zoom immediately, tell them that cameras on is required. If that's not enough, say there will be one on one breakouts with reporting back required.
This meeting was voluntary but I don't think many people stayed (I didn't).
Almost every AI tool and service provider targeting publishers is reframing existing problems and challenges to make it seem like they have the magic solution, but even the best case scenarios require overcoming one of publishing's biggest challenges: messy, proprietary data.
They all require significant revamps of deeply entrenched workflows that have so far resisted far more compelling reasons to change.
"But my colleague was happy: he typed out a prompt, went and did something else, and when he came back, he had something that looked 'good enough'.
What actually happened is that he burned a bunch of tokens to feel productive instead of just giving me the prompt that he gave the AI tool." @riotnrrd
I had a similar experience, but the text was also artificially generated, so the whole deck was an embarrassing mess that was deemed 'good enough'. 🤡 💩
LinkedIn declares war on what now?!? 🤔
It is 32F and someone in the neighborhood is mowing their lawn at 8:40am.
