Former police barracks on Clyde Street in Glasgow. Built in a neo-classical style in 1894, it was bought by the Salvation Army in 1934 to create a women's hostel. It's now student accommodation in the 2010s.

The South Portland Street Suspension Bridge connecting Laurieston to the centre of Glasgow. Designed by Alexander Kirkland and George Martin, it was built in 1851 to replace an earlier wooden footbridge. When it first opened it cost a halfpenny to cross it. In the distance is the Glasgow Bridge (now known more commonly as the Jamaica Street Bridge), which was built in the 1890s to replace earlier bridges constructed in 1833 and 1772.

La Pasionaria on the Clyde Waterfront in Glasgow. Featuring a statue of Dolores Ibarruri, it's a memorial to the volunteers of the Internarional Brigade who fought and died in the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s.

I love the shape and symmetry of this central block of windows on Riverside House on Clyde Street. This seven-storey office building was designed by Eric A. Sutherland in a Free style and was constructed in 1907.

More of the beautiful Street Swallows from artist Wilma van der Meyden. These pieces of street art can be found on walls in side streets off the Broomielaw and Clyde Street in Glasgow and are made from fragments of discarded materials found in and around the city.

The statue of Dolores Ibarruri (born 1895 died 1989) on Clyde Street in Glasgow. Also know as La Pasionaria, she was a hero of the Spanish Civil war. The statue commemorates the 2,100 British members of the International Bridage who joined the struggle against fascism in the late 1930s. Ibarruri is the only non-British woman to be honoured with a statue in Glasgow.
