Today's #neurodivergent challenge is trying to organize objects in my home without getting completely snowed in by epistemological problems of taxonomy. I am looking at these assorted objects and just going blank on if and how they relate to each other, and where they should be put away.
If this feels relatable and you have suggestions for how to get unstuck please let me know!
Podcast Episode: Money, Time And Happiness
Spending and saving are two extremes that define how we use our money. On one side, compulsive buying creates closets full of unused clothes — frozen capital that generates nothing and leaves behind environmental damage through fast fashion waste.
On the other side, saving and investing unlock the power of compound interest, where time and consistency transform small monthly contributions into significant wealth.
The nineteenth‑century factory worker had no access to this tool; mutual aid was their only option. Today, the infrastructure exists: mutual funds with low minimums, automated savings apps, and tax‑advantaged accounts.
The real challenge is not whether compound interest works, but whether we start before we feel ready. In the end, the choice is between money trapped in fabric or money working for your future — and the lever you pull determines whether you optimize for time, money, or happiness.

Kerbside parking - "Drivers are using a public road to park their private cars. What would happen if authorities banned on-street parking?"
"Australia actually has an oversupply of parking, both on streets and in parking lots...In many European nations, authorities have worked to make streets less centred on cars and parking." >>

Sigh. Not enough places to have on display and readily accessible books, rocks, and knickknacks. Abraham Lincoln and the cat are not impressed. The snakes are openly laughing. This is the problem downsizing over the years.
I have divested 3 glass display cabinets so my extensive rocks/minerals/fossils and crystals collection is still in disarray and partly still boxed up. I’m down to 2 tall bookcases so I’ve only got my favorite books out, favorite history books, favorite rocks and geology books and my favorite cookbooks out but there are still 6 boxes of books I just can’t give up but…they are in the garage.
Woe is me. Sniff. Got to snug up my britches, drink some more liquid Resolve and Fortitude and start divesting again. “With a knick-knack paddywhack” even. #Books #Clutter #Bookcase #Cookbooks #KnickKnack
