It was not as messy as it could have been with the #clipper #storm system that passed through.
mhdGiven that I didn't use earlier IBM PCs for business, I never quite got into the "lost" tech of that area, dBase. I tinkered around a bit with Visual Fox Pro, but coming mainly from a programming/UI building perspective, checking to see what one could learn there (it was quite good, if I remember correctly).
But no real experience with the non-relational database queries and scripts of that time. Is it worth getting into, just to widen one's horizon? (Probably via DOSEMU and dbase III or IV)

Cord WiljesI am still actively using the original programme that I wrote in 1985 to manage my comic collection. It is written in dBASE III+ syntax and compiled with Clipper on a state-of-the art Commodore PC20 with Intel 8088 (4,77 MHz, 16-Bit-architecture) CPU, 256 kB RAM, and 10 MB hard drive (fancy stuff, back then). Today, over 40 years later, the user interface may look a tiny bit outdated, but everything still works like a charm.
