Bright orange Xanthoria elegans on a rock along Clear Creek standing out among its companions (though I believe the genus is now technically Rusavskia). I absolutely love the color change every year in the mountains. But I find myself looking down just as much as up when meandering along and taking in the crisp air and seasonal shift. It’s always fun to spot lichen that match the rusty hues above too.
