It’s been a while since I posted here—I’ve been more active on Bluesky and Mastodon. That said, most of what I post is photography, and I often feel cramped by post limits on those platforms. So here are a few shots I took recently of a bird feeder in our back yard.

I’ve been shooting a lot with a relatively new 100mm macro lens, and while these aren’t macro shots, they do take advantage of that lens’s gorgeous bokeh and the simpler optics of a prime lens. I probably couldn’t have gotten away with shooting almost directly into the sun with a zoom lens. I also have been working on my B&W skills and developing my style, hence the two different treatments. These are two different shots but are almost identical—I could have done the same thing with an exact copy.
