今日はジャック・オッフェンバックの誕生日。1819年、ケルンの生まれ。

「ジャック・オッフェンバック」という名前は「芸名」で、本名は「Jakob Levy Eberst」。父親の出身地のオッフェンバッハをフランス語読みにしたもの。「ジャック」もドイツ名のヤコブをフランス風に変えたもの。

子供の頃はチェリストとしての訓練を受け、かなりの腕前だったという。その頃に書いたチェロのための作品がいくつか残っているが、人口に膾炙した「天国と地獄」などの作品に比べると演奏機会は遥かに少ない。

Been watching some more "classic" anime, this time Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso) from 2015.
What a beautiful piece of art this is, amazing music, great story, can't speak highly enough of it!

I actually finished it a day or two or go, but I had to give it a little time to gather my thoughts and compose myself.
Not been as deeply affected by an anime as this for a while, I don't mind admitting it got a little dusty in here 😭
